POS integration
The POS integration connects your cellar to your point of sale. Sales made on the till are imported into Vinify and taken off your stock, by the bottle and by the glass, and land in your cellar history as Sold. On most systems Vinify also sends your wines and prices to the till, so the menu on the POS follows the cellar: add a wine, change a price, turn on sale by the glass, and the till gets it. Recipes (cocktails, wine pairings) can be sold on the till too and take the right centiliters off every ingredient.
It is an add-on to a paid plan, 59 euro a month, covers every supported system and includes Sales analytics.

How to use it
Getting connected
The connection is set up by the Vinify team together with you. You tell Vinify which system you use; the team confirms it is supported, agrees a time with you and asks for the access details the system needs (API keys, a login, a location or menu id, the till's product groups and VAT codes). Vinify links the cellar to the system and runs a first full sync that creates every wine on the till. Setup takes from about 15 minutes, depending on the system and the size of the cellar.
Once connected the cellar knows its POS and the POS features appear: POS name, POS glass name and Product ID on each wine's Details tab, group pickers when you add a wine (on some systems), a sync banner over the selling prices (on one system), and for Restolution a Sync button in the cellar header.
Which systems
Vinify connects to 15 systems: Lightspeed, Restolution, Munu, Winston, Favrit, UniPos, OnlinePOS, Susoft, NanoPOS, Unitouch, Ilglu, Caspeco, PCK, FriendlyPOS and Baemingo. Every connection does the same core job; a few things depend on the system.
What every connection does
- Your wines and prices reach the till. On most systems as soon as you save: adding a wine, changing its name, price, glass price or bottle size, and turning sale by the glass on or off. A few systems read the cellar once a day or when you press Sync, and on some you enter Vinify's product number on the till yourself.
- Sales come back into Vinify. Most till systems hand out their sales once a day, so for most systems yesterday's sales are in your stock and your history the next morning. A few systems send sales during the day.
- Glass sales take centiliters off the open bottle, using the wine's glass size or the cellar's default.
- Recipes (cocktails, pairings) can be sold on the till and take the right centiliters off every ingredient.
What depends on your POS system
- Whether a return on the till comes back into your stock.
- Whether a wine you delete in Vinify is removed from the till, or you remove it there.
- Whether a recipe reaches the till with its ingredients or as a plain article.
- How menu groups are set, how long an article name may be, and whether extra selling prices reach the till.
Ask Vinify what your system does. The POS pages on the Vinify site describe each system.
Day to day
- POS name and POS glass name on the wine's Details tab, on the systems that take names from Vinify. Vinify builds the name from the producer, wine name, vintage and size, shortens it to your till's limit, and keeps it in sync with the wine. Once you edit it, it stops following the wine and your name is kept. The counter shows the limit of your system.
- Product ID shows the number or code the till uses for the bottle and the glass, and for each extra price tier.
- While the till is updating (on some systems), the selling prices are locked with the banner "Updating your POS system. Selling prices are disabled until this finishes." A save during that window answers "Still syncing your previous changes. Please try again shortly."
- Sales appear in cellar history as Sold with the price the till reported (or your selling price when the till gives none), one line per sale or one line per wine per day depending on the system. The weekly stats in history and the Sales analytics page read from them.
- Recipes reach the till only while "Available in POS" is on; turning it off removes the recipe from the till.
On mobile
There is no POS setup or POS field in the iOS or Android apps. Sales imported from the till show in the history on mobile like any other transaction.
Common questions
Why is yesterday's sale not in my stock yet?
Most till systems hand out their sales once a day, so for most systems yesterday's sales appear in the morning. A few systems send sales during the day. Which one yours does depends on your POS system.
I changed a price in Vinify. When does the till see it?
Right away on most systems. A few systems read the cellar once a day or when you press Sync, and on some the till reads the price itself. It depends on your POS system.
A wine is missing on the till
On most systems a wine is only created when its style is mapped to a VAT code and a group on the till. Ask Vinify to check the mapping for that style. On systems with explicit groups, the wine needs a bottle group (and a glass group) picked in Vinify.
Can I rename the article on the till?
Edit the POS name on the wine's Details tab. It then stops following the wine's name. Renaming it directly on the till is overwritten by the next sync on most systems.
Does a sale of a glass reduce the bottle?
Yes. Glass sales take the centiliters off the open bottle, using the wine's glass size or the cellar's default. NanoPOS is the exception: it counts glass sales as bottles.
What happens when I delete a wine?
Depends on your POS system. On most, Vinify removes the article from the till; on some you remove it there yourself.
Do returns on the till come back into my stock?
Depends on your POS system. Some systems report returns and Vinify books them back; others do not.
Can I connect the POS myself?
No. Tell Vinify which system you use; the team confirms it is supported, agrees a time with you and sets the connection up. It takes from about 15 minutes.
