Plans and billing

Vinify for businesses comes as two plans, Starter and Pro, and two add-ons, Market value and POS integration. Every new business cellar opens with the cellar home and ordering from the marketplace; a trial or a plan opens the rest. You pick a plan on the web, pay by card through Stripe, and every feature your plan includes opens right away. Plans and billing in cellar settings shows what you have, when it renews, your add-ons, and lets you change plan, add or cancel add-ons, and open your invoices. Cancelling happens in the Stripe billing portal.

The plans

Prices below are from the live catalog on 28 September 2026. They are in euro and exclude VAT; VAT is added at checkout, 25 percent in Norway, and EU businesses with a valid VAT number are charged with reverse charge. A first purchase of a plan starts with a free trial.

Add-ons need a paid plan and follow its billing period: a yearly plan takes yearly add-ons, a monthly plan monthly ones, and when you change the period the add-ons move with the plan. New customers pay in euro; Norwegian kroner exists only on older subscriptions.

Choosing a plan

  1. Open a feature your plan does not include, or go to Settings, Plans and billing, See Vinify plans. You see the plans side by side with a Monthly or Yearly switch, yearly preselected, and the yearly saving against monthly. The plan with the higher monthly price carries the Popular badge.
  2. Choose a plan. On a first purchase the button starts your 14-day free trial, with "No charge today, cancel anytime". Later purchases read "Choose Starter plan" or "Choose Pro plan".
  3. On the next step, switch on the POS integration or Market value add-ons if you want them. The summary shows the total per month or year, the trial, and "Due today" of zero during a trial. During a trial the add-ons are free too.
  4. Continue to payment. Stripe Checkout asks for a card. Payment is by card, "Cancel anytime · Secure payment via Stripe". After paying you land back on the page you came from.

Changing a plan

From Plans and billing, open the plan menu and choose Change plan, or open the plans page. Your current plan and period read "Current plan" and cannot be chosen; the others read "Upgrade to Pro plan", "Downgrade to Starter plan" or "Switch to yearly billing". Choosing one previews the prorated amount for the rest of your period:

  • When nothing is due, for example a downgrade or a switch that ends in credit, the change applies immediately and you see "Your plan has been updated".
  • When an amount is due, Vinify sends you a Stripe invoice by email and opens it. The change is applied as soon as that invoice is paid. The invoice is due one day after it is sent, and a newer change replaces it.

A downgrade locks the features the lower plan does not include; nothing is deleted. Your extra selling prices, recipes, pricing rules and counts stay, and when you come back to Pro you switch the extra selling prices on again in cellar settings.

Add-ons

Add-ons are added from Plans and billing, from the add-on's Learn more card, or from the locked feature's own page, where the card reads "Add to your plan" or, without a plan, "Purchase with plan". On a paid plan the add-on step shows your current add-ons as Included and the new one with "Add & pay" and the prorated amount for the rest of your period. Cancelling an add-on, from its menu, takes effect immediately: "This change takes effect right away and applies to your current billing period. Your plan won't be affected." The unused part of the period becomes a credit on your next invoice.

Cancelling

Cancel subscription in the plan menu opens the Stripe billing portal. You keep full access until the end of the paid period, then the paid features and your add-ons close; the cellar home and Orders stay open, and nothing is deleted. While a plan is cancelled you cannot change it or add add-ons; reactivate it in the portal first. Billing & invoices opens the same portal, where you see invoices and change your card.

If a payment fails

  • At first you keep full access. A banner under the navigation and a strip on the plan card say what is unpaid and when Stripe will retry. Plan changes wait until the payment is settled.
  • If the payment keeps failing, the paid features and the Market value add-on pause. The locked pages show the amount due and a button to the billing portal. Access comes back automatically as soon as the invoice is paid.
  • If the next renewal comes while the old invoice is still unpaid, the subscription is cancelled and the paid features close; subscribe again to reopen them.

On mobile

Business plans are bought and managed on the web. The iOS and Android apps read your plan and unlock features accordingly. A business user who taps a locked Market value card in the apps is sent to a web page about Market value. Private accounts have every cellar feature without a plan; their in-app purchase, Vinify Plus, unlocks market value through the app stores.

Common questions

Do private accounts need a plan?

No. A private (non business) account has every cellar feature, including stock count, beverage recipes, the price calculator and extra selling prices. Market value for private accounts comes with Vinify Plus, bought in the iOS or Android app.

Do I need a card for the trial?

Yes. The trial is 14 days and runs through Stripe Checkout. Nothing is charged today, and you can cancel before the trial ends to avoid a charge.

Can I get the trial twice?

No. The trial is offered once per cellar. After a trial, or after a paid plan, the plan buttons read "Choose" instead of "Start my free trial".

What happens to my data when my plan ends?

Nothing is deleted. The cellar home and Orders stay open. The other pages show the plan choice instead of their content until you subscribe again, and your prices, recipes, rules and counts are there when you do.

Can I buy Market value or POS integration without a plan?

No. Add-ons need an active paid plan. Without one the add-on button reads "Purchase with plan" and takes you to the plan choice with the add-on preselected.

I cancelled, why can I still use everything?

Access runs until the end of the period you paid for. After that the paid features close.

Why did my plan change not go through?

Either a payment is outstanding, or your plan is scheduled to cancel. Settle the payment or reactivate the plan in the billing portal, then change it.

I upgraded and got an invoice by email instead of paying by card. Is that right?

Yes. Upgrades and new add-ons on a running plan are invoiced for the prorated amount. The change applies when the invoice is paid.

Where are my invoices?

Settings, Plans and billing, Billing & invoices. That opens the Stripe billing portal.

Is VAT included in the prices?

No. Prices are shown without VAT. VAT is added at checkout: 25 percent in Norway, and reverse charge for EU businesses with a valid VAT number.

Which currency am I billed in?

Euro. Only older subscriptions still run in Norwegian kroner.

My card payment failed. What now?

Stripe retries the payment and emails you, and you keep access while it retries. If the payment keeps failing, the paid features pause and come back as soon as the invoice is paid, from Billing & invoices.
